PbCl 2 + 2KI PbI 2 ↓ (yellow) + 2KCl ; PbCl 2 + H 2 S PbS ↓ (Black)

PbI 2 + KI(Conc.) K 2 (PbI 4 ) (aq)

yellow precipitate of Pbl 2 dissolves in excess KI(conc.) and give PbI 4 2– , ppt reappears on dilution.
